Introduction and Reflection 1 Paper: Goals for internship

Introduction

Hello everyone, I am sorry I haven't been on here in a very, very long time. After graduation life was crazy and I will explain it late, but it will be on my other site Jennifer's Life, if you want to find out what is going on with me since graduation. Anyways, since this is my professional blog site, I decided to get a little personal on here and let you read my Reflections and assignments I did weekly for my internship. It's from my point-of-view of what I was going through during my internship and being professional as much as I could. The papers I did for my class assignments and reflection papers don't sound professional. I wanted to make it entertaining for the reader while educating them at the same time. I think I succeeded because a week before graduation I met with my dean of my program to talk about an issue I had and we solved the issue, but when I told her my name she knew who I was. I never met my dean before. I never needed a reason to meet her until now. Anyways, the way she new me was because of my assignments and reflection papers. She said out of all the people's papers she had to read, mine were the most entertaining. So that proves that. (Laugh Out Loud). If you don't know where my internship was at, well, it was the Clarkston Chamber of Commerce.

So In the headline I will write if my paper was a reflections paper or assignment paper and the number. **Note** Reflection papers are more personal and my point-of-view. Assignment papers are more professional and give information more. There is a total of 15 papers. I have 10 reflection papers and 5 assignment papers. After these are all out then I will be writing about my thoughts on my career and learning how to do podcast. If I ever learn how to do it. LOL. One day I will. Well here is my reflection 1 paper.

Reflection 1 Paper: Goals for my internship

Well hello, my name is Jennifer Doran. Now I know I shouldn't be doing this type of writing but I find it better entertaining to write this as a journal then a formal paper. You may be wondering, why? Well, I want to write this as a journal format because this is my last and final year in college. I would like my kids one day to read this and for myself too. Anyways, I am going to list three goals of mine for my last internship for this term and how I plan to accomplish them.
My first goal is to utilize my skills that I have learned since starting college. The first thing I would do is get the assignment/project from my employer. If I didn’t get a specific list of details also called specs sheet, this is when my series of questions would begin. After getting all my details for the projects and information on whom to contact if I have further questions, I would start by making a time management sheet of when everything needs to be done. I would collect all information and photos then start using the programs I learned from school.
This leads me to my second goal creating new and fresh art work. Now, the way I go about making sure my work is new and fresh is by checking out my competitions work. I do the research on different types of artwork. This helps me with two things, one, making sure what is already published to not become a copy cat. Secondly, it will help me create a new idea from old examples. Sometimes an old example can turn into being a new idea.
This brings me to my last goal attracting people outside the Clarkston area to come see what their little town has to offer. I am hoping with my new fresh and new ideas for their logos, maps and some other things they have for me that I can bring in that new revenue. I hope by making new up-to-date images, logos, and maps (maybe interactive ones for the internet), that new people will show up. Those that show up will tell them nice shops and spend the word. Also having social media sites to help advertise helps too.
In the end, I am hoping to complete and amaze my internship employers on my artwork, hard work and willing to complete any project they may have for me. I plan at the end of my internship to write my last reflection on how I really did on these projects. I hope you enjoyed my writing and can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks again,

Jennifer Doran
